Welcome to the virtual home of the Sisters of Swing.
We are a dynamic, all woman big band based in Bristol made up of professional and amateur musicians who all enjoy playing and performing together.
Our extensive repertoire includes swing and big band standards ranging from the 1930s through to floor-filling pop favourites from the swinging 60s.

Vacancies
We currently have vacancies for brass players. If you are a woman who plays the trombone or trumpet to around grade 5 or 6 standard (or equivalent – grades are not necessary) we would love to hear from you.
Ideally you will be familiar with the swing genre and have experience of playing swing and big band music in a large or small ensemble. You must be willing to commit to regular rehearsals and a full programme of performances in and around the Bristol area and sometimes more widely.
There is no requirement to improvise but some written solos may feature in some of the charts.

CDs available!
The Sisters of Swing have now recorded two CDs – one 5-track and one 10- track. The 5-track is available for purchase by digital download from a number of online stores including i-Tunes, Google Play and Amazon, plus many others, or you can buy a physical copy at any of our gigs. You can also listen to the music for free on Spotify.
Copies of both CDs can be purchased at our gigs or if you prefer please contact us and we will get one in the post to you. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or online bank transfer. (Bank details on request).
